This is my latest painting that I finished this last week. It was a new model that posed for me in my studio. I will be posting more paintings of this model. I find her very interesting. If you have a comment on this painting please let me know.
This is the completed work and the title I gave it is "Very Much Alone". It's a 24" x 18" on Linen.
There will be more paintings of this model later on. As you can see in the final painting I changed the background to a more simple background with the coloring being the challenge.
"Very Much Alone"
While in Barcelona we visited the Segrada Familia Cathedral. It is amazing and very thought provoking. Designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) construction of Sagrada Família started in 1882 and Gaudí became involved in 1883 taking over the project combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms. At the time of Gaudi's death in 1926, less than a quarter of the project was complete. Sagrada Família's construction progressed slowly, as it relied on private donations. Construction passed the midpoint in 2010 with some of the project's greatest challenges remaining and an anticipated completion date of 2026, the centenary of Gaudí's death. Hope that I get to see it when it is completed.
While in Tijuana, Mexico I attended a Ceramic Show at the Museum in Tijuana.
Opening of the Children's Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico.
I went to Tijuana, Mexico and painted with a friend of mine from Spain. While there, my friends from San Diego, Laura and Franz, invited me to the Grand Opening of the Children's Hospital in Tijuana. I met so many interesting people at the event but the highlight of the evening was having my picture taken with Miss Baja California.
