"As I Am"
36" x 24" Oil on Linen
Anthony A. González
This is my latest painting. I took a video of it's progression. I am in the process of editing it and will have it up as soon as I complete it.
This is the completed work and the title I gave it is "Very Much Alone". It's a 24" x 18" on Linen.
There will be more paintings of this model later on. As you can see in the final painting I changed the background to a more simple background with the coloring being the challenge.
"Very Much Alone"
I have a new model and this is my first painting of her. I think she has a quiet look that is appealing and suggestive. This is the concept I was looking for. I will post the finished painting when completed. Comments or questions are welcomed.
While in Barcelona we visited the Segrada Familia Cathedral. It is amazing and very thought provoking. Designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) construction of Sagrada Família started in 1882 and Gaudí became involved in 1883 taking over the project combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms. At the time of Gaudi's death in 1926, less than a quarter of the project was complete. Sagrada Família's construction progressed slowly, as it relied on private donations. Construction passed the midpoint in 2010 with some of the project's greatest challenges remaining and an anticipated completion date of 2026, the centenary of Gaudí's death. Hope that I get to see it when it is completed.
My wife and I visited the MEAM museum while in Barcelona. It is a very good museum for representational figurative works of art. While we were there we watched a flamenco dancer and singers put on a show which was very unique and enjoyable.
